George B. Huber
Founder, Managing Principal and President/CEO
Mr. Huber is Founder, Managing Principal and President/CEO of Equity Investment Group. For over three decades, Mr. Huber has been responsible for maintaining all key investor and financial relationships and for the long- and short-term strategic and operational leadership of all EIG investments and businesses. Under his leadership, EIG has completed over $7 billion in transactions throughout the United States, including more than $1 billion in transactions involving retail shopping centers, and several B2B and B2C manufacturing and distribution companies. Under Mr. Huber’s leadership, by the early 2000s, EIG had become a private retail REIT and one of the largest private owner/managers of retail real estate in the United States, with offices in six states and 120 shopping centers nationwide. He co-founded/owned/managed Blue Vista Capital Management, LLC, a Chicago-headquartered real estate investment management company. Blue Vista raised and managed an excess of $1 billion of institutional equity through four closed-end funds, two separate accounts and one joint venture relationship totaling approximately $5.25 billion of capitalization. Mr. Huber has also owned or co-owned and served as Managing Principal of numerous other operating companies including Victory Sports Group, LLC a professional sports ownership and management company, and Peak Campus Companies, one of the five largest student housing managers and developers in the United States. Prior to founding Equity Investment Group, Mr. Huber served as the retail partner for Trans Texas Investment Properties in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Huber has been active in numerous professional and charitable organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors for publicly-traded companies such as Fort Wayne National Corporation (NASDAQ:FWNC) and Lakeland Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:LKFN). He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The Canterbury School; Chairman of the Board of Directors Downtown Fort Wayne Economic Improvement District; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries Northern Indiana; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Huber holds a B.A. in Business from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. with Honors from the University of Michigan.
Robert L. Sutton
Principal and Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Sutton is a Principal and Chief Investment Officer of Equity Investment Group. Since joining EIG in 1996, Mr. Sutton has been primarily responsible for all retail property acquisitions and dispositions, including over $1 Billion in retail real estate transactions. Since 2003, he has also overseen all development, property management and leasing activities for the company. Additionally, Mr. Sutton is responsible for cultivating and maintaining business relationships with buyers and sellers of retail real estate across the country, national and regional commercial brokers and brokerage firms, and national retail tenants in connection with the EIG retail portfolio business. Mr. Sutton led the retail real estate investment activities at EIG through its most dramatic period of growth, helping it grow into one of the largest private owner/managers of retail real estate in the United States – with offices in six states and 120 shopping centers nationwide with an aggregate of more than 15 million square feet. Today, under Mr. Sutton’s direction, EIG owns and manages approximately 4 million square feet of neighborhood and community shopping centers across the United States, with offices in Fort Wayne, Atlanta and Seattle. Prior to joining EIG, Mr. Sutton spent five years as president of Sutton and Ramsey Real Estate & Brokerage, and was responsible for all company real estate investment, brokerage and land development throughout the Midwest. Mr. Sutton holds a B.S. in Finance from Defiance College and an M.B.A. with Honors from Butler University.
Anthony M. Zirille
Principal and General Counsel
Mr. Zirille is a Principal and General Counsel of Equity Investment Group. Since joining EIG in 1998, Mr. Zirille has overseen all corporate legal affairs of EIG business, including all legal aspects of EIG negotiations, due diligence and closing of investment acquisitions and dispositions. This includes retail shopping center transactions of more than $1 billion and legal oversight of EIG’s regional and national B2B and B2C manufacturing and distribution companies. By the early 2000s, as part of the EIG’s executive leadership team, Mr. Zirille helped grow EIG into one of the largest private owner/managers of retail real estate in the United States, with offices in six states and 120 shopping centers nationwide. Additionally, from 2004 to 2013, Mr. Zirille served as General Counsel of Blue Vista Capital Management, LLC, a Chicago-headquartered real estate investment management company. Blue Vista raised and managed in excess of $1 billion of institutional equity through four closed-end funds, two separate accounts and one joint venture relationship totaling approximately $5.25 Billion of capitalization. Mr. Zirille also served as General Counsel of Peak Campus Companies, one of the five largest student housing managers and developers in the United States. Prior to joining EIG, Mr. Zirille practiced corporate and real estate law with the multi-national law firm of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP. Mr. Zirille serves as an Advisory Board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, Director of Indiana State Youth Soccer and founding member of the Indiana Soccer Foundation. He was also a 2010 regional recipient of the “Notre Dame Person of the Year” award and the 2009 recipient of the Raymond Rosenberger Foundation’s Minette Baum Award for community service. Mr. Zirille has a B.S. in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law (Order of the Barristers).
