George B. Huber

Founder, President and CEO

George B. HuberGeorge Huber is Founder, President and CEO of Equity Investment Group, Inc., responsible for all aspects of EIG investments, key investor relationships, and business strategies and operations. For over three decades under his leadership, EIG and its affiliates have completed over $7 billion in transactions throughout the United States, including nearly $2 billion in retail shopping center transactions for their own account, while also owning and operating several B2B and B2C manufacturing and distribution companies. By the early 2000s, EIG had become a private retail REIT and one of the largest private owner/managers of retail real estate in the United States with offices in six states and more than 120 shopping centers nationwide. 

In 2015, Mr. Huber was named successor to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, as Chairman and a Managing Principal of Britton Hill Holdings, LLC, a Miami, FL-based, privately-held investment firm with investments in the energy, aviation and logistics industries. Since 2016, Mr. Huber has also served as a Managing Partner of Zips Car Wash, the second largest express tunnel car wash owner/operator in the United States.

In January, 2017, Mr. Huber became a Managing Partner of Dock Square Capital LLC, which he co-founded with Governor Jeb Bush and other Britton Hill principals and strategic partners. Dock Square Capital is a Miami, FL-based merchant banking firm engaged in principal equity investments, growth equity partnerships and other strategic advisory services for a global network of entrepreneurs, families, sovereign entities, and institutional, strategic investors.  Dock Square’s portfolio investments include the largest private owner and manager of wireless telecommunication infrastructure in the United States, a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud and interconnection services and one of the nation’s leading agricultural land lenders, AgAmerica Lending, on whose Advisory Board Mr. Huber sits. 

Prior to his involvement with Britton Hill and Dock Square Capital, Mr. Huber was co-founder/owner/manager of Blue Vista Capital Management LLC, a Chicago-headquartered real estate investment management company. Blue Vista raised and managed in excess of $1 billion of institutional equity through four closed-end funds, two separate accounts, and one joint venture relationship totaling approximately $5.25 billion of capitalization. Mr. Huber also owns or has owned and served as a controlling principal of numerous other operating companies including Victory Sports Group, LLC a professional minor league sports ownership and management company; American Wire, Rope & Sling, a leading Midwest fabricator and supplier of overhead lifting and rigging solutions; Safe-Way Garage Door Company, a national manufacturer and distributor of garage doors; and Peak Campus Companies, one of the five largest student housing managers and developers in the United States.

Mr. Huber has been active in numerous professional and charitable organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors for publicly-traded companies Fort Wayne National Corporation (NASDAQ:FWNC) and Lakeland Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:LKFN). He also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Canterbury School, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of Northern Indiana, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Downtown Fort Wayne Economic Improvement District.

Mr. Huber holds a B.A. in Business from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. with Honors from the University of Michigan. Mr. Huber resides in Seattle, Washington with business offices in Seattle, Miami, and Fort Wayne.

Robert L. Sutton

Principal and Chief Investment Officer

Robert L. Sutton

Bob Sutton is a Principal and Chief Investment Officer of Equity Investment Group, Inc. Since joining EIG in 1996, Mr. Sutton has been primarily responsible for all retail property acquisitions and dispositions, including nearly $2 billion in retail real estate transactions.

Since 2003, Mr. Sutton has also overseen all development, re-development, property management, and leasing activities for Equity Investment Group and its affiliated companies. Additionally, Mr. Sutton is responsible for cultivating and maintaining business relationships with buyers and sellers of retail real estate across the country, national and regional commercial brokers and brokerage firms, and national retail tenants in connection with the EIG retail portfolio business. Mr. Sutton led the retail real estate investment activities at EIG through its most dramatic period of growth, helping it grow into one of the largest private owner/managers of retail real estate in the United States, with offices in six states and 120 shopping centers nationwide with an aggregate of more than 15 million square feet. Today, under Mr. Sutton’s leadership, EIG continues to own and manage approximately four million square feet of neighborhood and community shopping centers across the United States.

Mr. Sutton also oversees site selection, negotiations and development for locations for retail car wash operations and complimentary subleases and uses as part of the investment team for Zips Car Wash, LLC. Zips Car Wash is the second largest and express tunnel car wash owner/operator in the United States.

Prior to joining EIG, Mr. Sutton spent five years as President of Sutton and Ramsey Real Estate & Brokerage, where he was responsible for all company real estate investment, brokerage, and land development throughout the Midwest. 

Mr. Sutton holds a B.S. in Finance from Defiance College and an M.B.A. with Honors from Butler University.

Anthony M. Zirille

Principal and General Counsel

Anthony M. Zirille

Tony Zirille is a Principal and General Counsel of Equity Investment Group, Inc., as well as General Counsel for Miami-based Britton Hill Holdings, LLC and Dock Square Capital LLC.

Since joining Equity Investment Group in 1998, Mr. Zirille has overseen all corporate, transactional and operating legal affairs of EIG and its affiliates, including nearly $2 billion in retail shopping center transactions and legal oversight of several regional and national B2B and B2C operating businesses ranging from Victory Sport Group, a professional minor league sports ownership and management company to American Wire, Rope & Sling, a leading Midwest fabricator and supplier of overhead lifting and rigging solutions. By the early 2000s, as part of the EIG’s executive management team, Mr. Zirille helped grow EIG into one of the largest private owner/managers of retail real estate in the United States, with offices in six states and more than 120 shopping centers nationwide. Today, EIG continues to own and manage approximately four million square feet of retail real estate across the United States. 

In 2015, Mr. Zirille also became General Counsel of Britton Hill Holdings. Britton Hill is a privately-held investment firm based in Miami, FL with investments in the energy, aviation, and logistics industries and co-owner/operator of Zips Car Wash, the second largest express tunnel car wash owner/operator in the United States, for which Mr. Zirille serves as Chief Legal Officer.

Mr. Zirille also serves as General Counsel of Dock Square Capital, a Miami, FL-based merchant banking firm founded in 2017 by EIG’s George Huber, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and other Britton Hill principals and strategic partners. Dock Square engages in principal equity investments, growth equity partnerships, and other strategic advisory services for a global network of entrepreneurs, families, sovereign entities, and institutional, strategic investors. Dock Square’s portfolio investments include the largest private owner and manager of wireless telecommunication infrastructure in the United States, a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud and interconnection services, and one of the nation’s leading agricultural land lenders.

Prior to his involvement with Britton Hill and Dock Square Capital, Mr. Zirille also served for nine years as General Counsel of Blue Vista Capital Management, a Chicago-headquartered real estate investment management company. Blue Vista raised and managed in excess of $1 billion of institutional equity through four closed-end funds, two separate accounts and one joint venture relationship totaling approximately $5.25 billion of capitalization. Mr. Zirille also served during that period as General Counsel of Peak Campus Companies, one of the five largest student housing managers and developers in the United States.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Zirille practiced corporate, transactional and real estate law with the multi-national law firm Faegre Baker Daniels LLP. Today, Mr. Zirille serves as an Advisory Board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, Director of the Indiana Soccer Association, Founding Member of the Indiana Soccer Foundation, and Co-founder and Advisory Board Member of the Ann Yoder MS Fund of the Indiana University Foundation. He was a 2010 regional recipient of the “Notre Dame Person of the Year” award and the 2009 recipient of the Raymond Rosenberger Foundation’s Minette Baum Award for community service.

Mr. Zirille holds a B.A. in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law (Order of the Barristers).

Dan Michael

Chief Financial Officer

Dan MichaelDan Michael is Chief Financial Officer for Equity Investment Group, Inc., as well as for the Miami-based Britton Hill Holdings, LLC, and Dock Square Capital LLC.

Since joining EIG Mr. Michael has been responsible for the management of all accounting and finance departments for EIG and its affiliates, including raising debt financing for EIG’s retail, office and other commercial real estate properties portfolio and accounting and systems oversight for EIG’s regional and national B2B and B2C manufacturing and distribution companies.

Mr. Michael also serves as Chief Financial Officer of Britton Hill Holdings. Britton Hill is a privately-held investment firm based in Miami, FL with investments in the energy, aviation, and logistics industries and co-owner/operator of Zips Car Wash, the second largest express tunnel car wash owner/operator in the United States. As CFO of Zips Holdings, LLC, the holding company for Zips Car Wash and its real estate affiliates, Mr. Michael is primarily responsible for the oversight of all transactional, underwriting, and finance areas for the company.

Mr. Michael also serves as Chief Financial Officer of Dock Square Capital LLC, a Miami, FL-based merchant banking firm founded in 2017 by EIG’s George Huber, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and other Britton Hill principals and strategic partners. Dock Square engages in principal equity investments, growth equity partnerships, and other strategic advisory services for a global network of entrepreneurs, families, sovereign entities, and institutional, strategic investors. Dock Square’s portfolio investments include the largest private owner and manager of wireless telecommunication infrastructure in the United States, a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud and interconnection services, and one of the nation’s leading agricultural land lenders.

Prior to joining EIG, Mr. Michael led the corporate finance and accounting areas for Blue Vista Capital Management, a Chicago based real estate investment management company which, during his 8-year tenure, managed in excess of $1 billion of institutional equity through four closed-end funds, two separate accounts, and one joint venture relationship totaling approximately $5.25 billion of capitalization.

Mr. Michael is a registered CPA and holds an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Business with a concentration in both Accounting and Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
